It seems like Virat Kohli and the date 23rd April are strong foes because in the past decade, on this date, most of the time, the RCB star has failed to score runs.
This is not a one-off, but there are a number of instances where Virat Kohli didn’t perform well on 23rd April in the IPL, including the latest failure, a first-ball duck to Rajasthan Royals‘ Trent Boult.
In fact, on his last 3 batting outings on April 23, Virat Kohli has bagged 3 consecutive ducks!
This is a very unbelievable fact, but it is true.
Recognized statsman Bharath Seervi, @SeerviBharath, put out a stat that stunned everyone. And this might stun even Virat too.
Virat Kohli on 23 April in IPL:
2012 – 16 (16) v RR
2013 – 11 (9) v PWI
2017 – 0 (1) v KKR
2022 – 0 (1) v SRH
2023 – 0 (1) v RR
‘RCB should look to avoid scheduling their matches on 23rd April!!‘ Bharath Seervi tweeted.

How did Virat Kohli get out today vs RR?
It was a sensational delivery and a sensational start provided from Trent Boult to RR after Kohli had elected to bat first in Bangalore.
Bowling from over the wicket with the shiny new ball, Boult made the ball swing and talk, and trapped the star batsman lbw, who miss his flick shot on the leg side. Boult bowled a brilliant in swinger that, despite this being a day game, swung considerably from his hand, pitched on the middle stump, and went on straight.
Kohli missed the ball on his bat’s inside edge – perhaps he’d considered the ball to move a bit more but the ball straightened, went past his bat, and rapped him on his back leg. No sooner had Boult gone up in his appeal than the umpire raised his finger.
Despite Kohli’s wretched show with the bat, it still ended a good day for RCB as they won by a close margin of 7 runs after posting 189 on the board courtesy of superb knocks from Faf du Plessis (62 off 39) and Glenn Maxwell (77 off 44). With the ball, for RCB, Harshal Patel was the star man with figures of 3/32.
RCB, who now have 8 points in 7 matches, sit at the 5th spot in the points table.
