Virat Kohli earns 100 times more than Pakistan’s highest earning cricketer

Virat Kohli is arguably the best batsman in world cricket, across all three formats of the game. In the last four years or so, Kohli has played many match winning innings for India and proved his metal wherever he travelled to play cricket. Kohli has emerged as the poster-boy of Indian cricket and he is also the highest paid cricketer in world cricket.

The highest earning cricketer of Pakistan in 2015-16, Mohammad Hafeez, took home approximately Rs 2.5 crore (39 million Pakistani rupees) as earnings from the Pakistan Cricket Board, much less than India’s Test captain Virat Kohli’s Rs 308 crore annual income. According to documents sent by the PCB to the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Co-ordination for the fiscal year 2015-16, it paid some 46 cricketers around 550 million rupees (INR 35.2 crore) as their fees and bonuses for all formats of the game. Collectively, the entire Pakistani outfit earned a figure of Rs. 35.2 crores for the year gone by and this was stated in an official report by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Kohli almost earns 9 times as much as all the contracted members of the Pakistani side.
