“Boddied him with the bat…” Virat Kohli Fans Troll Harsha Bhogle After Fifty vs DC

Star RCB batter Virat Kohli continued on his sensational form to clatter a third half-century in 4 innings in IPL 2023 as he managed a score of 50 (34) against Delhi Capitals, at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

In the hot afternoon in Bangalore, Virat Kohli came out with intent and purpose, and showed it right away against one of the fastest bowlers in the world, Anrich Nortje. He cracked Nortje for two fours in the first over itself and proceeded to register another brilliant half-century with the help of 6 gorgeous boundaries and one disdainful sixer to Mustafizur.

While hitting proved to be a difficult task for other batters, Virat Kohli showed his class with a smooth knock, which unfortunately ended when he hit a full toss from Lalit Yadav straight to the deep mid-wicket fielder.

Kohli was very animated in the celebration of his half-century though; he looked pumped up and aggressive, more than usual while celebrating reaching his landmark.

Virat Kohli

Many fans thought this was Virat Kohli’s perfect reply to his critics, in particular Bhogle. The commentator had raised an issue after Kohli’s half-century against Lucknow Super Giants, about the batter slowing down near his fifty, after RCB lost to LSG in a last-ball thriller.

What did Harsha Bhogle tweet about Virat Kohli?

Virat Kohli

Bhogle had lamented Virat Kohli’s slowdown after the powerplay in that LSG game, tweeting “This game confirms everything we have been talking about strike rates. Kohli 61(44), eventual SR of 139 but got 16(15) at the end. Du Plessis 79(46) eventual SR of 172 but was 33(30). Those balls don’t come back. And #RCB were short in the end. It is not about the eventual SR.”

On commentary, Simon Doull had said similarly about the slowdown by Kohli.

Now, after the 34-year-old RCB batter hit a fifty on a slow-ish pitch against DC, Virat Kohli fans trolled veteran commentator Bhogle.
