Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli hogged the headlines in the last league match of IPL 2023 courtesy of their centuries – both his back-to-back centuries in the tournament.
However, Shubman Gill’s ton trumped up that by Virat Kohli’s as Gujarat Titans defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium, and thus RCB got eliminated, propelling Mumbai Indians into the playoffs as the fourth team. RCB and Kohli’s dream of lifting the IPL trophy was shattered once again.
While most of the fans praised and hailed ‘Prince’ Shubman for his spectacular century under the pressure of a big chase, a small section of RCB and Kohli fans abused not only Gill but also his family, in particular Gill’s sister who is on Instagram.

While it is felt that cricketers often don’t look at social media, it was later made clear by Shubman Gill that he’s clearly upset by the trolls on his sister’s account when he liked a tweet on Twitter wherein journalist Madhav Sharma showed support to Gill and his sister, condemning those abusive, nasty comments from Virat Kohli and RCB fans on this same website.

Shubman Gill liked a tweet from Madhav Sharma in which the journalist and his team lend a sympathetic hand to Shubman Gill for having to deal with those obnoxious comments on Shahneel’s Instagram.
