Virat Kohli Requested BCCI To Allow Cricketers’ WAGs To Stay During The Tour But Got Brutally Trolled On Twitter

Last updated:

A few time ago, the cricket board of India, BCCI made a new rule in which they restricted the stay of wives of players and support staffs to two weeks before the start of England Test series in August and seems like they are still on it even after the England tour.

But the skipper of Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli is not happy with this decision and for the same reason he has requested the BCCI to change the rule and allow the wives of of the players to accompany them on all overseas tour. According to reports Virat Kohli  first approached a top BCCI officer with the issue. Virat Kohli was assured that his message will be conveyed to the Committee of Administrators.

Now the current rules allows the WAGs of the cricketers but only for 15 days after the first two weeks of 45 days tour board.

The step was taken after Anushka Sharma was slammed brutally on social media for posing with the complete Indian cricket team and staff at the High Commission event in London during the tour.

The official twitter handle of ANI, recently, reported that COA are currently going to postpone their decision and are going to stick to their former decision of not allowing the WAGs of cricketers.

The tweet read:
“Yes he requested but we are not going to take any decision soon,we have said we will leave it to the new office bearers. Policy will not change now: Committee of Administrators (CoA) Sources to ANI on Virat Kohli requests BCCI to allow wives for whole overseas tours”

As soon as the tweet caught eyes, people on twitter started trolling and slamming Virat Kohli. Here, have a look at how twitterati reacted to Virat Kohli’s request :
