Virat Kohli vs Sachin Tendulkar has been a growing comparison in the cricket world with every year. Tendulkar popularly known as the ‘GOD OF CRICKET’ is sitting at the top of the tally in both ODI cricket and Test cricket based on the number of runs that he has scored.
However, Kohli in this era is matching him from strength to strength. He has already surpassed Tendulkar’s tally of 49 centuries in ODI cricket to become the only man to score 50 ODI centuries.
OPINION: Can Virat Kohli Surpass Sachin Tendulkar’s Tally Of 100 Centuries?

Now, the growing question is Can Virat Kohli break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 centuries in international cricket? Kohli currently sits at 80 centuries in international cricket. He has to get 20 more international centuries if he needs to equal Sachin’s record.
At 35 years age, Kohli already has 50 ODI centuries, 29 test centuries and 1 T20I century. He has already announced his retirement from T20I cricket after the T20 World Cup 2024. So, the formats that will be on focus will be ODI and Test cricket.
If Kohli goes on to play 5 years more till the age of 40 with an average of 6 centuries per year then he can definitely break Tendulkar’s record of 100 international centuries. However, it looks simple based on the consistency and the dominance that Kohli has shown in the last decade.
We have to keep in mind that he is in the fag end of his career, his form will be dwindling coupled with his fitness and hand-eye coordination. So, scoring 5-6 centuries on average every year is definitely a tough feat. However, one thing is for sure, Kohli has to get going in the test format.
