Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag was left disappointed with the exclusion of Rohit Sharma in the playing XI for the 1st T20I.
While the Indian skipper had earlier claimed that Rohit will be opening the 1st T20I along with KL Rahul. However, ahead of the game, the Indian skipper came for the toss in the T20I against England, he revealed that the team has decided to rest Rohit for the first couple of T20Is. He also said that KL Rahul will be opening the innings for team India along with Shikhar Dhawan for the first two T20Is.
Many were left disappointed with the selection choices for the 1st T20I. Virat Kohli and Indian team management are getting brutally slammed on social media over the same.
Among many, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag expressed his disappointment over the exclusion of Rohit Sharma from the playing XI of team India for the 1st T20I. During an interview, Virender Sehwag was asked about his opinion on Rohit not being there in the playing squad, reacting to which Sehwag gave an epic reply.
Sehwag took a subtle dig at other Indian batsmen while praising Rohit as he claimed he would turn off his television if Rohit isn’t playing. He also claimed that if Rohit is available to play he should be picked in the playing XI. He said:
“Public come to see Rohit’s batting me being Rohit’s fan, if he doesn’t play my TV will be off, I don’t feel like watching the match”
