A twitter user asked Wasim Jaffer about his opinion on pacer Pat Cummins’ chances of taking the reins of the national side. Responding to the question, Wasim Jaffer came up with a hilarious reply.
In his reply, Jaffer took a hilarious dig at the infamous ball-tampering controversy that has once again grabbed all the limelight since a few days. Taking a dig at the incident, Jaffer wrote:
“He’s one of the frontrunners. But write his name in sand and not yet on paper.”

Recently, Cameron Bancroft, who was caught tampering with the ball using yellow sandpaper during the 2018 Newlands Test against South Africa, recently, opened up about the infamous incident and hinted towards the involvement of more players in the plot.
Bancroft’s statement suggested the involvement of an Australian bowling group consisting of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon.
Following Cameron’s revelation, Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon, who were all part of the team during that incident, issued a joint statement to claim their innocence.
“We pride ourselves on our honesty. So it’s been disappointing to see that our integrity has been questioned by some journalists and past players in recent days in regard to the Cape Town Test of 2018,” the statement read.
Cameron later accepted the offense and was handed a nine-month ban. Infact, the then Australian skipper Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner also admitted that they were guilty and subsequently were banned from international cricket for one year.
