In a viral video, the fan who breached the Chinnaswamy stadium’s security to touch Virat Kohli’s feet and hug the RCB legend is seen getting beaten up by the police and ground staff officials.

During the RCB vs PBKS match, when Virat Kohli came out to bat, a fan entered the ground, and ran across the playing field of the Chinaswamy stadium, to reach Kohli at pitchside in the middle of the ground. He quickly went low and touched Kohli’s feet.

A security guard tried to take him away, but the fan didn’t budge and even hugged Virat Kohli. Soon one more security guard arrived and took the fan away from Kohli who didn’t give much reaction and walked to the crease to take his guard.

Now, in a video that has surfaced on social media taken from between the stands, the ground and police officials can be seen mercilessly beating the fan.

Netizens laid out different arguments for this. Everyone agreed that the fan was in the wrong for breaching the security. While some said the police and ground staff shouldn’t have beaten up the person so badly, or at all, other advocated for them, citing that the fan had made a serious breach and the officials were justified in being furious.

Virat Kohli

Talking about Virat Kohli, the RCB opener played a sizzling innings of 77 runs in 49 balls with the help of 11 fours and 2 sixes. He carried RCB’s innings for 16 overs in the chase of 177, before Dinesh Karthik and Lomror added the finishing touches to take RCB home.

Kohli said, “I try to give the team a blazing start, but if wickets fall, you have to understand the conditions as well. Wasn’t the usual placid pitch. It was a bit two-paced. And I thought I need to play correct cricketing shots. Playing across the line wasn’t working. Disappointed I couldn’t finish the game. Was in the slot but sliced it to deep point. Not a bad start – playing after two months and getting into the tournament.”
