Even though Hardik Pandya led Mumbai Indians to their first win of the IPL 2024 season, the MI fans continue to remain upset with their new captain.

After starting the season with three consecutive losses, Mumbai finally got first points on the board through their 29-run victory over the Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede stadium.

A late blitz from Romario Shepherd, where he smashed Anrich Nortje for 32 runs in the final over of the innings, helped MI post 234 runs. Delhi, though, did remain alive in the chase for a long while, and managed to score 205 runs.

Hardik Pandya played a slow knock of 39 runs in 33 balls while others went at a much higher strike rate. Earlier against SRH, when MI were chasing 278 and were on track, Hardik’s innings of 24 (20) killed their momentum and they lost the match by 31 runs when once looking in a good position to actually chase 278.

IPL 2024: Fans Trolled Hardik Pandya With Hilarious Memes For His Poor Knock Against Delhi Capitals

After the match against Delhi, a young fan was interviewed outside the stadium. The kid tore into Pandya’s captaincy with facts, suggesting that Hardik should be sacked from the Mumbai captaincy. He demanded for more loyalty from the Mumbai Indians owners and management to Rohit Sharma, the captain who led them to five IPL trophies.

Hardik has scored in this IPL at a strike rate of 138, while four other MI batters have gone at a higher strike rate than him. With the ball, Hardik Pandya has conceded runs at a high economy of 10.85.

The kid said that Hardik and MI were saved by Shepherd’s cameo, otherwise, they could have lost this match as well.
