Mumbai Indians keeper-opener Ishan Kishan had fun time with bowling coach Lasith Malinga in MI’s training camp recently. The youngster put on a blue colour wig and imitated Malinga’s famous slingy action.
With the IPL 2024 to get underway in a week, most of the players have joined their respective franchise’s preparatory and training camps.
Ishan Kishan recently participated in the DY Patil T20 Cup to warm-up for the big tournament after being on a break for more than three months. At the MI training session, the youngster shared a funny moment with legendary Sri Lankan and MI pacer Lasith Malinga.
Kishan got hold of a blue-coloured wig and then proceeded to imitate Malinga’s action. He showed Malinga his action and the Sri Lankan had a big smile on his face. This video has gone viral on social media.

Malinga was with the Rajasthan Royals until last season, but ahead of the IPL 2024 auction he returned to MI, a franchise he played all his IPL career for MI. Malinga replaced Shane Bond as MI’s bowling coach.
Fans are happy to see Ishan Kishan in his jolly mood after some tough times in which he saw himself being excluded from the BCCI central contract after not playing in the Ranji Trophy match he was suggested to turn up for.
There had been a huge controversy involving Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer after the duo was dropped from the BCCI central contracts due to not following the suggestions of playing in the last round of Ranji Trophy matches.
This, however, doesn’t mean that they will be dropped from Team India. Kishan, in particular, is in contention for being picked in the T20 World Cup squad, but he will need to have a blockbuster IPL season as the likes of Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, and Jitesh Sharma are vying for a seat on the plane for the West Indies too.
MI will kick off their IPL 2024 campaign, under new skipper Hardik Pandya on March 23, against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.
