England captain Ben Stokes was left shocked as Pakistan’s tailender batter Mohammad Ali refused to shake hands with him after the conclusion of the 2nd England vs Pakistan Test match at the Multan Cricket Ground. The Ben Stokes-led England cricket team created History by taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match Test series after a 26-run victory.
While the game turned out to be an enthralling one, however, after the game’s culmination Ben Stokes was visibly shocked by the attitude of Mohammed Ali as he refused to shake hands with him. It happened after the England side gathered in a huddle after Ollie Robinson scalped the wicket of Ali through an edge which was caught by the keeper, Ben Stokes approached his opponent to shake hands however he was declined the courtesy by the Pakistan player.
In fact, Ali was heard uttering a few words to Stokes, following which, the England captain backtracked. It looked like Ali had signaled for a DRS to the umpire for his dismissal and he was mentioning the same to Stokes. Ali mouthed a few words to Stokes, probably reminding him that the decision was yet to show up on the big screen, following which Stokes backed off.

Talking about the game, when the day commenced, Pakistan needed 157 runs to win, and England had six wickets. In the end, it was England that succeeded. Notably, this victory marks England’s first occasion of registering back-to-back wins in Pakistan in Tests.
Meanwhile, after the match, during the post-match presentation, Stokes was highly appreciative of the effort that he and his team conjured during the game. He said:
“Obviously, different conditions and differently played games but fantastic to be a part of both the games. We had a look at the wicket and it was tricky against slow bowling, but as the game progressed the cracks opened up and our seamers came into the game. The way in which Jimmy and Robbo bowled in the series and our spinners as well, they are going to deliver more often than not (referring to him not bowling). Amazing debut for Abrar and many congratulations to him. He took 7 wickets but we were still scoring runs against him. I just look around and look at my options and see who gives me the best opportunity to pick wickets,”
