{Watch] RCB’s Asha Sobhana Does Suryakumar Yadav’s Celebration After Knocking MI Out Of WPL

RCB Women’s leg-spinner Asha Sobhana did the famous ‘Keep calm when I am here’ celebration of Suryakumar Yadav after RCBW knocked Mumbai Indians women out from the WPL 2024 tournament.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s defending champions lost by 5 runs in the Eliminator to RCBW as RCB’s bowlers put on a terrific show to defend 20 runs in three overs.

With 12 runs needed off the last six balls, leg-spinner Asha Sobhana conceded only 6 runs in the last over against Pooja Vastrakar, Amelia Kerr, and Amanjot Kaur.

7 runs were required on the last ball and Asha conceded only a single. It sent RCB to the final, where they will play Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals. After sealing RCB’s victory, Asha Sobhana did the famous celebration of Suryakumar from IPL 2020 that SKY did after beating Virat Kohli’s RCB.

Talking about the match, it was once again Ellyse Perry who outdid MI. Earlier she had taken a six-wicket haul in the league stage against MI. In the Eliminator, Perry scored 66 runs after RCB were 23/3, and she took the side to 135, a fighting total.

In the chase, although MI lost wickets regularly, Harmanpreet Kaur kept the required run rate under check, so much that MI needed only 20 runs in 3 overs. However, after Shreyanka Patil dismissed Kaur, RCB got all over MI and eventually won by 5 runs.

Ellyse Perry, the Player of the Match, said: “We are ecstatic to get an opportunity to be in the final. To defend a low total like that is awesome. The girls kept calm and pretty awesome performance from the spinners at the end. You gotta take the opportunity when it comes.

“Nice for me the last couple of games, it has fallen my way. The way we stayed calm against such a good side is exceptional. The way the girls have come together after last season and we have really enjoyed each other’s company on the field and off it. Overall we hung in there, the girls kept contributing, the old adage of runs on the board in a big game holds true I suppose and it did tonight. Can’t wait [for the final].”

The final is on Sunday in Delhi.
