[Watch] Shah Rukh Khan Dances On Jhoome Jo Pathaan At WPL Opening Ceremony In Chinnaswamy

Before play began in the first match of the WPL 2024 season, it was Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan who entertained the crowd at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, shaking his leg to his famous song Jhoome Jo Pathaan.

The WPL 2024 season got underway with a repeat of last season’s final: Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians, who are the defending champions, taking on Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals. While last season was entirely played in Mumbai, this year, the tournament will be played in Bangalore and Delhi.

Before the toss, the BCCI had organized a delightful opening ceremony where as many as six Bollywood stars performed, the biggest of them all was King Khan, . Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, other Bollywood icons at the WPL opening ceremony were Shahid Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, and Tiger Shroff.

There was a huge cheer by the Chinnaswamy crowd when King Khan stepped up on the stage. He then proceeded to dance to the Jhoome Jo Pathaan song from his movie Pathaan. The crowd sang along with Shah Rukh who entertained the crowd, warming them up completely before the cricketing action began.

Shah Rukh Khan also posed for a photo with the five WPL captains.

Meanwhile, Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bowl first, citing the dew factor at the Chinnawswamy. Mumbai Indians, once again, look the team to beat, having bolstered their bowling attack with the addition of legendary South African speedster Shabnim Ismail.
