India captain Rohit Sharma recently met the world-renowned DJ from the Netherlands, Martin Garrix, who is currently on a tour of India and gifted the latter his Test shirt.

Following the Border-Gavaskar Test series, which India won 2-1 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, the 35-year-old opener is on a short break. He will next be seen in action in the ODI series against Steve Smith’s side, starting March 17 in Mumbai.

During this short break, Rohit Sharma had a brief meeting DJ Garrix

As a mark to remember this meeting, Rohit Sharma gifted Netherland based DJ his Test shirt, which has his name and number 45 on it.

The DJ uploaded couple of pictures of his meeting with the India captain.

“Great meeting you and thank you for the shirt (heart emoji) In,” Netherland based DJ captioned his Instagram post.

The consulting agency that handles Rohit Sharma, RISE Worldwide, also uploaded an image of this greet-and-meet between the two superstars of their respective fields.

“Captain @rohitsharma45 met the DJ and Cricket enthusiast, @martingarrix,” the image was captioned.

They met perhaps in Ahmedabad, where Martin performed his last show on March 12th and where Rohit Sharma played in the 4th Test against Australia.

Who is Garrix?

Netherland based DJ, stage name Netherland based DJ and Ytram and GRX, is one of the most followed DJs in the world, boasting of a massive Instagram following of 15.7 million. Hailing from Netherlands, Garrix, 26, was ranked number one on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list for three consecutive years—2016, 2017, and 2018.

He is best known for his singles “Animals”, “In the Name of Love”, and “Scared to Be Lonely”. He founded the label Stmpd Rcrds in 2016, months after leaving Spinnin’ Records and before signing with Sony Music.

Rohit Sharma to miss 1st ODI against Australia

Coming to cricket, Rohit Sharma will be missing the 1st ODI against Australia, on March 17 in his home city, Mumbai, because of personal reasons. It has been reported that Rohit will be attending the wedding of his brother-in-law.

In Rohit’s absence, vice-captain Hardik Pandya will lead the team against Australia, who will be captained by Steve Smith in the absence of Pat Cummins, who is unavailable because of the passing away of his mother recently.

Rohiit will return to lead the side in the 2nd ODI on March 19 in Visakhapatnam.
