Cricket Ireland stepped in to offer Sanju Samson an opportunity at international cricket. It has to be noted that Sanju was ignored for the Asia Cup, the T20 World Cup, and the tour of Bangladesh. Despite some solid performances, Samson continues to be overlooked by the national team selectors.
Well, if Samson decides to take up this offer, he would have to retire from the IPL and from all the forms of Indian cricket. Notably, former Under-19 World Cup captain Unmukt Chand, who is now playing his trade in the US, took a similar route.
Sanju Samson has reportedly declined the offer. While he has expressed gratitude to Ireland for considering him for this opportunity but he also said that could never imagine playing cricket representing another country other than India. In fact, Samson has signed up for the first two games of Kerala’s Ranji Trophy games
