Will The BCCI Sack Chetan Sharma?

BCCI Chetan Sharma

Is the writing on the wall for the BCCI chief selector Chetan Sharma following his explosive sting operation done by Zee News that has shocked everyone? It seems so, as the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is set to make a decision – most probably a sacking – on Chetan’s future.

In the videos that Zee News released on Tuesday, Chetan Sharma talked over various topics, giving sensational and shocking bits about Indian players taking injections to pass fitness tests, about the ego clash between Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly, about the groupism in the Indian team between Kohli and Rohit Sharma, and much more.

The BCCI is angry with Chetan Sharma about his comments, and also for talking to a news reporter about the inside information of Indian cricket and the BCCI.

Will Chetan  Sharma be sacked?

Chief selector Chetan Sharma is likely to be sacked by the BCCI in the coming days.

“The BCCI, including board President Roger Binny and Secretary, Jay Shah, are extremely unhappy and sad with the sting operation and an official action against Sharma is writing on the walls,” the BCCI source told Cricketaddictor.

“BCCI was extremely jubilant with how the Women’s IPL Auction went ahead just a day ago ahead of the Sting operation and with now everything coming up in front, Sharma’s future holds nothing but dark clouds,” the source added.

Kohli went after Ganguly publicly: Chetan Sharma

Speaking on the Kohli-Ganguly saga that unfolded publicly in 2020 and 2021, Chetan Sharma said that Kohli’s ego as a superstar had become too big while Ganguly didn’t like Kohli.

When a cricketer becomes big, he feels that he can do anything and conquer anyone. So, he (Kohli) went after the President (Ganguly). Sourav Ganguly never said a word about the issue to me, but Kohli wanted to go after him,” Sharma said.

“The press conference ahead of the IND vs SA series where Virat Kohli revealed that he was told 1.30 hours before the declaration that he will be leaving the captaincy was unnecessary. He just wanted to get back at Sourav that’s why he did it.”
