The Indian cricket team will face Bangladesh on October 19th in their fourth World Cup 2023 game. The team has already reached Pune, sweating hard ahead of the much-awaited clash between the two Asian giants. The Rohit Sharma led team India has concluded the tournament with three wins in three, with victories over Australia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan by margins of six, eight, and seven wickets, respectively.
Rohit Sharma Bowling In Nets In IND vs AFG
So far, the Indian bowlers have been the tournament star, having restricted Australia and Pakistan to scores of 199 and 191. It won’t be wrong to say that the Indian squad has the best bowling line-up in the tournament with a mix of world-class fast bowlers and spinners.
However, if there is one weakness in the team, it is the fact that none of the top-order batters rolled their arms to bowl. The matter was first brought up by former Indian cricketer and World Cup hero Gautam Gambhir, who highlighted how everyone from the 2011 World Cup-winning team in everyone in the team from the top seven apart from Gautam Gambhir and MS Dhoni was able to roll their arms.
The Indian captain seems to have taken it upon himself now to solve this issue. Ahead of the game against Bangladesh, during the net session, the Indian captain Rohit Sharma picked up the bowl and broke the internet. Rohit was seen bowling off-spin in the nets in Pune. He was also seen taking advice from veteran Indian bowler R Ashwin while rolling his arm in the practice session. The video and pictures from the same have been going viral on the internet.

For the unversed, Rohit used to bowl a lot during his younger days. In fact, he once scored a hat-trick in IPL 2009 while playing for Deccan Chargers.
Ahead of the tournament, Rohit Sharma revealed that because of a finger injury, he doesn’t bowl anymore but he also claimed that he was trying to get back to bowling in the nets. Speaking to journalist Vimal Kumar’s YouTube channel, Rohit said:
“I have problems with my finger while bowling. I don’t want my batting affected because of it. I am bowling in the nets, and let’s see.”
