Star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was ruled out of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 because of an ankle injury that he sustained during the clash against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19th.

Hardik Pandya had twisted his ankle and landed awkwardly during the game against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19. He limped off the field and was immediately taken for the scans. He was ruled out of action for the rest of the game. He has subsequently missed India’s next three matches against New Zealand, England, and Sri Lanka.
While he was expected to return to action during the semi-final stage of the tournament, however, he has failed to recover on time. The team management and captain Rohit Sharma were also positive about Hardik Pandya’s return but now they will have to do without the services of Pandya.
The news was shared by ICC via their official account. The statement read:
“Pandya hurt his left ankle while bowling during India’s World Cup match against Bangladesh in Pune last month and it has now been confirmed that the 30-year-old has failed to recover in time to part of the rest of the campaign,”
Hardik Pandya is currently undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the NCA. The Indian team management has announced Prasidh Krishna as Hardik’s replacement for the remainder of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Indian cricket fans were left heartbroken after the star all-rounder was ruled out of the tournament. While the majority of fans sent him wishes for a speedy recovery and a grand comeback, however, there were a few brainless fans, who abused his left, right, and center on his social media handles.
