Yuvraj Singh And Other Indian Cricketers Speak Up For Priyanka Reddy

The heinous rape and murder of a 26-year-old veterinary doctor Priyanka Reddy have shaken the entire nation. She was raped, smothered and then burnt by four men, who hail from Narayanpet.

The incident took place on Wednesday night when the veterinary was returning back from her clinic. Her bike was punctured and the girl was then lured in the name of help and was raped and burnt alive.

On Friday, four people were detained by the Hyderabad Police, who were identified as Mohammad Areef (driver), Jollu Naveen (cleaner), Chennakeshavulu (cleaner), Jollu Shiva (driver). 

The police revealed that the accused were consuming alcohol at Shamshabad toll plaza when they saw the girl parking her scooter. This is when they planned to rape her. One of them went ahead and punctured the rear wheel of the doctor’s scooter which was parked at a place.

The entire incident has left the whole nation in pain and anger. One can’t even imagine the pain the girl must have gone through and what her family is going through now. The nation has now joined hands and is taking to their social media to vent out their anger on the whole incident.

Former Indian cricketer, Yuvraj Singh also took to his twitter and wrote:

“This is an extremely painful news, shocked & disgusted on this barbric and ghastly rape & murder. Its time we all hang our heads in shame. ?? Thoughts and prayers with her freinds and family.
#RIPPriyankaReddy ?”

Harbhajan Singh also requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into the matter. He wrote:

“Shame on all of us we keep letting these things happens again nd again butnothing change.y can’t we make strict policy against such criminals nd hang them in front of whole town to set th examples 4 others ??????? #RIPPriyankaReddy need ur attention @narendramodi sir ?

Politician and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir also posted a heartfelt image after the incident. He tweeted:
