Australian captain Steve Smith, who is one of the best batsmen in world across all three formats of the game, announced the news of his engagement on Thursday. Steve Smith announced his engagement to Dani Willis, a law student, on Thursday while the two were on vacation in New York.
The Australian captain got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend and she said yes. Smith and Willis reached New York a week back after their trip to London, where Smith played the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
Smith, reportedly, met Dani Willis at a bar in 2012 during the first season of the Big Bash League (BBL). During the IPL 2017, we saw Smith and Dani together many times. They even took a short break and went to UAE for a vacation during the tournament.
Steve Smith chose New York’s Top of the Rock observation deck to propose to Dani Willis. The Australian capatin announced the news of his engagement though an Instagram post in which he added a picture and wrote: “Today I got down on one knee and @dani_willis said YES ??#engaged.”
Dani Willis also shared the same picture on her Instagram account with the caption ‘The beginning of forever’.
