Rohit Sharma continued with his brilliance at the Chinnaswamy Stadium against Australia as he added another feather to his already illustrious cap. The Indian opener managed to slam his 29th ODI century, which was also his 8th against Australia.
Chasing a total of 286 runs, the Indian cricket team kickstarted the game with a bang. Rohit Sharma had to open with KL Rahul as Shikhar Dhawan got ruled out of the action having injured his shoulder during the last match.
The Hitman Sharma was at his best of the form as he was timing the ball sweetly early in the innings itself giving India a good start but slowly he started hitting some big shots, smashing the Australian bowlers to all the corners of the ground. Before KL Rahul was dismissed with an LBW by Ashton Agar, the duo added 69 runs together.
With Shikhar Dhawan not by his side, Rohit Sharma played the shots very responsibly. Rohit Sharma scored 119 runs off 128 balls smashing 8 fours and 6 sixes.
In the process, Rohit Sharma reached the 9000 run-mark in the ODI and became the third-fastest cricketer to do so. It took Rohit Sharma 217 innings to reach the milestone, while, it took 194 innings to reach the same milestone.
Twitterati were all praises for Rohit Sharma as he continued to hit the ball out of the park. From fans to cricketers everyone took to their twitter and showered praises for the vice-captain.

Superb century from Rohit. Has been India’s anchor this chase. Hardly any fuss once he got there. Just a gentle raise of the bat. #INDvsAUS
