Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan, in a hilarious tweet, trolled the “toothless” bowling attack of the Pakistan team as the Men In Green stand on the verge of being eliminated from the World Cup 2023 semi-final race after being pumped for 401 runs by New Zealand in Bangalore.
Until a couple of months ago, ahead of the start of the Asia Cup 2023, the Pakistani bowling attack was being hailed as one of the best – arguably the strongest pace attack – in the world by their fans and by some ex-cricketers.
However, they have fallen off spectacularly. Pakistan couldn’t reach the final of the Asia Cup, and then have been battered by the batters in the World Cup so far.
Of the 10 teams in the World Cup 2023, Pakistan have the 4th worst bowling average of 39.22 runs per wicket; only Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and England have a worse bowling average than Pakistan. The economy rate of their bowlers, which is 6.15, is the second-most expensive in the tournament so far; only the Sri Lankan bowlers, with an economy of 6.35, have been more expensive than Pakistan.

Irfan Pathan tweets on Pakistan’s bowling attack in World Cup 2023

Former all-rounder and now a commentator, Irfan Pathan, made an epic tweet on Pakistan’s poor bowling displays in the ongoing World Cup 2023.
Irfan Pathan tweeted: “Pakistan’s bowling has been toothless thru out the World Cup.”
This tweet from Irfan Pathan went viral in quick time with fans trolling the Pakistani team and its bowling attack under it.
When bowling first, Pakistan have conceded three scores of over 340, and have failed to defend scores of 282 vs Afghanistan and 270 vs South Africa. Their only three wins so far have come against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Netherlands.
Against New Zealand in Bangalore, the Pakistani bowlers were smoked all over the Chinnaswamy stadium for 401 runs. Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi recorded the two worst bowling figures by a Pakistani bowler in ODI Men’s World Cup.
