Fans React After Senior Journalist Questioned Rohit Sharma’s Commitment To Team India

Captain Rohit Sharma didn’t travel with the first batch of the Indian contingent to England. This has raised plenty of speculations about the skipper’s fitness.

The majority of players and staff members left for the all-format England tour on June 16 from Mumbai, the pictures of which were uploaded by the BCCI.

Former captain Virat Kohli, pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shubman Gill along with all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and were spotted in the images shared by the Twitter account of the BCCI.

The reported news is that Sharma is completely fit and will leave on June 20th along with head coach Rahul Dravid, and Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, the two players who are currently playing versus South Africa.

Samip Rajguru slams Rohit, in turn, gets trolled by fans

Veteran Indian journalist Samip Rajguru took to his Twitter account to question why Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid didn’t fly to England on June 16 despite being rested for the South Africa series.

Rajguru also feels it’s unacceptable for Rohit to leave on June 20th after being rested following the IPL 2022.

Here are Rajguru’s tweets:

The tone of the tweets wasn’t appreciated by the fans who then trolled the journalist heavily.

Rohit Sharma To Join Team India Soon

Sharma recently returned from his vacation in the Maldives and will join Pant and Shreyas Iyer for the flight to the UK on June 20 from Bangalore after the completion of the ongoing IndiaSouth Africa T20I series.

The Edgbaston Test, which is the last Test of the unfinished series from last year, will be the first time Sharma will lead India in an overseas Test. Under Kohli’s captaincy, India gained a 2-1 lead in the 4 Tests played so far, where Sharma was India’s highest run-getter with 368 runs and only behind Joe Root.

Sharma, though, is coming off a poor IPL season – where the MI skipper finished with 268 runs at an average of 19 and a strike rate of 120 and didn’t notch up even a single half-century.

India will kick off the tour with a 4-day practise match against Leicestershire from June 24, while Hardik Pandya will be leading the T20I side for two T20Is in Ireland on June 26 and 28. The Edgbaston Test will be followed by 3 T20Is and 3 ODI with the tour concluding on July 17 in Manchester.
