David Warner Gives A Strong Reply To Kuldeep Yadav

India’s young Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav created history by becoming the first ever Indian spinner to take a hat-trick in One Day International (ODI) cricket. Kuldeep bowled a triple-wicket maiden in the second ODI of the ongoing 5-match series between India and Australia and registered his name in the records book as only the third Indian bowler to take a ODI hat-trick, after Kapil Dev and Chetan Sharma.

Recently, Kuldeep Yadav had said that Australia’s swashbuckling batsman David Warner takes pressure while batting against him. The young Chinaman also feels that he can get Warner out anytime.

Kuldeep Yadav’s statement on David Warner:

“I guess he (Warner) takes pressure while batting against me, and feels I can get him out anytime. It’s good that there’s no pressure on me and I enjoy bowling to him. I always feel to get him out and set my plans accordingly. I will try to get him out more,” Kuldeep had quoted.

Speaking to India Today’s Boria Majumdar, When David Warner was asked to share his views on Kuldeep’s statement, the flamboyant Australian opener said that he likes Chinaman’s confidence and credited him the way he bowled in Kolkata. However, he also added that the pressure to perform his on Kuldeep Yadav as he is still very young in international and played just 2 Tests and 9 ODIs.

David Warner’s reply to Kuldeep Yadav:

“I like Kuldeep’s confidence. Credit to him for the way he bowled (in Kolkata). But the pressure is on him to perform, not me. You have played two Test matches and nine ODIs – when you are young, you have that confidence. I remember I had that kind of confidence when I was young and probably said things I would not now,” responded David Warner.

David Warner also said that Kuldeep is bringing the pressure on himself by making such big statements.

“He has been doing well and he has confidence that is what he brings to the table. But when he speaks like that, he is bringing the pressure on himself,” David Warner added further.

OUR VIEW: We like the way Kuldeep Yadav is backing his words with wickets. He is a very exciting young prospect for India, and, on his day, he is a genuine match-winner who can change the momentum of the game in one over, like his did in the second ODI against Australia.

Australians like targeting the opposition, on and off the field and it is good to see that young Kuldeep is not afraid to talk to them in their style. But, having said that, this will surely charge up Warner and he will be waiting to face Yadav in the remaining ODIs.

We are in for a brilliant contest between bat and ball.
