Rajasthan Royals youngster Riyan Parag has made quite a name for himself as a good fielder and a safe catcher.
Not only does Parag, 20, rarely misses a catch, but his nonchalant style of catching and just throwing the ball away as if it was the easiest catch of his life has also got the fans loving him more.
Now, after taking two catches in the game versus Chennai Super Kings, Riyan Parag has gone past Ravindra Jadeja’s record to top the list for the most catches by an Indian in an IPL season. Parag’s tally of total catches this season reached 14 with two vs CSK, overtaking former CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja’s total of 13 catches from the 2015 season. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma also grabbed 13 catches in the 2012 season.

Overall, former Royal Challengers Bangalore stalwart AB de Villiers, who retired from the IPL last year, holds the record for most catches in a single season: 19 catches he took in the 2016 season.
Ahead of the clash with CSK, Riyan Parag spoke about his mindset of enjoying the game.
“I believe cricket is a fun game and we started playing because we enjoyed it. So, when I’m playing, I try to enjoy it, and that enhances my performance as well. The season has been up and down but we’re in third place, that’s what matters,” Riyan Parag told Star Sports.
Meanwhile, Riyan Parag remained unbeaten on 10 off 10 balls as R Ashwin saw off the chase against CSK. Chasing 151, RR completed the task with 2 balls to spare and 5 wickets in hand.
After Yashasavi Jaiswal scored 59 off 44 balls, Ashwin took over the finishing duties today hammering 40 off 23 balls to seal the second position in the points table for the Royals, who will now face the Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 on May 24 in Kolkata.
