KL Rahul is one of the most ‘in-form’ batsmen in world cricket at the moment. In the last 6 months or so, Rahul has worked extremely hard on his game and, finally, announced his arrival at the international level. KL Rahul is one of those batsmen who was a star in the eyes of fans and a ‘huge’ prospect in the eyes of pundits, right from the day he made his debut for India.
However, he had a longish ‘rough’ patch at the international level at the beginning of his career and he was often termed ‘hot and cold’ by fans and critics. But, he has worked hard on improving his shot selection and turned things around quickly by scoring runs consistently for India in limited-overs cricket.
In the recently concluded T20I and ODI series against New Zealand, KL Rahul was India’s best batsman and he impressed one and all with his technique, temperament, and consistency. Rahul showed to the world that he is a very talented and skillful batsman and can win matches single-handedly on his day.
Rahul batted at different positions in T20Is and ODIs and also proved that he is a very versatile batsman. The dashing Karnataka batter toyed around the Kiwi bowling-attack and emerged as India’s most consistent and successful batsman in T20Is and ODIs. Rahul also showed that he is also a team-man like Rahul Dravid, who also hails from the state of Karnataka, by taking the responsibility of keeping the wickets. And, he did a good job, too.
Rahul’s good friend and also his opening partner, Shikhar Dhawan is very impressed with KL Rahul’s performance on the tour of New Zealand. Dhawan, who is recovering from an injury, took to Instagram and praised KL Rahul in the most lavish manner by posting a story. Dhawan posted KL Rahul’s picture on his Instagram story and wrote:
“Well played and wonderful century bro keep going strong. The way you (KL Rahul) are batting, even if you go as 12th man you will score a ton.”
