MS Dhoni Revealed Why Players Wanted His Jersey In IPL 2020

MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings, after enduring their worst IPL ever, ended their journey of IPL 2020 with a positive note by winning three back-to-back wins. Though, Dhoni failed to leave a mark with his performance in IPL 2020 but this didn’t stop him from becoming the top trends on social media.

From supporting his team to giving some tips to the young lads of opposite teams, Dhoni won everyone’s heart once again.

Well, throughout the season, the former Indian skipper was seen gifting his iconic number 7 jersey to different players from the opposite sides, including the likes of — Jos Buttler, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Nitish Rana, and Kuldeep Yadav.

Well, this gesture left the fans wondering that why all of a sudden Dhoni is gifting his jerseys and the fans started speculating that the legendary cricketer will drop the retirement bomb when you least expect, just like how he left everyone stunned by announcing his retirement from international cricket.

However, Mahii has finally cleared the air and it was ‘definitely not’ the last season of IPL for Dhoni. On Sunday, before the match between CSK and KXIP kickstarted, Mahi was asked whether the game against KXIP could be his last game in the yellow. MSD said: “Definitely not”.

Later on, after CSK defeated KXIP, Mahi was asked about the gesture and he revealed that the cricketers asked for his jersey as they were also thinking that he might retire from IPL too. He said:

“Maybe they thought I am retiring, you know. I retired from international cricket, so they might be thinking I am retiring from IPL as well,”

“Definitely not, right?” was Harsha Bhogle’s next question referring to the earlier statement of Dhoni at the toss. “Definitely not,” the legendary cricketer said for the second time on Sunday.
