Aakash Chopra plied his trade as a cricketer for the Indian national cricket team from 2003 to late 2004. He had a very short international cricket career wherein he played only 10 matches for Team India.
Overall, he has aggregated 437 runs at an average of 23. He smashed two half-centuries to his name during his short stint as an Indian cricketer. Aakash Chopra registered his personal best score of 60.
He hasn’t hit a six in international cricket but has managed to smash a flurry of 49 boundaries to his name. On the other side of the coin, he has played seven games in the Indian Premier League wherein he scored 53 runs, registering his best score of 24.

During the Test opener of the Border Gavaskar Trophy series 2003-04 between India and Australia, Aakash Chopra took the cricket fraternity by surprise after he pulled off a top-tier catch at the slip.
Taking a catch at slip isn’t that easy because the fielder needs to possess a truckload of concentration. At any time, the ball may come towards the fielder and it is absolutely imperative for the fielder to react in a fraction of a second.
Even if the fielder reacts a tad late, then there is no chance of taking the catch. During the game against Australia, Justin Langer attempted to play his famous pull shot off Ashish Nehra’s bowling.
Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra who was positioned as a close-in fielder took the catch in his safe pair of hands. Much to Chopra’s shock, the on-field umpire, courtesy or a no-ball bowled by Ashish Nehra. Chopra was literally shell-shocked upon knowing that the sensational catch he took was ruled out due to a no-ball.
