“Bring Him Back To Khel”: Anupam Mittal Writes A Hilarious Tweet On KL Rahul: India suffered only their third home Test match defeat in 10 years as Australia emerged victorious by 9 wickets in the Indore Test to make a comeback in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 series, which now stands 2-1 ahead of the 4th Test, to be played in Ahmedabad.
Barring Cheteshwar Pujara in the second innings, none of the Indian batters looked assured against the Australian spinners on a treacherous pitch at the Holkar stadium as the hosts were bundled out for 109 and 163. Australia’s lead of 88 runs in the first innings proved to be the difference as they were set a target of only 76 runs which they chased down in an hour-and-half on the morning of Day 3.
India had made one change for the Indore Test, bringing in young Shubman Gill for the senior, out-of-form KL Rahul, who had scored 38 runs in 3 innings in the previous two Tests.
Gill started off well in Indore, creaming 3 boundaries before being dismissed by Matthew Kuhnemann for 21 (18), but certainly looked in a better tempo, rhythm, and confidence than KL Rahul did earlier.
Shubman Gill, however, played a rash shot in the second innings – dancing down to Nathan Lyon, with India trailing by a significant amount, and missed his slog; clean bowled for 5 runs. Gill and the Indian team management would have been unhappy with his shot selection in the second innings.
Should India recall KL Rahul for the 4th Test?
Anyway, Anupam Mittal, the Founder@People Group http://Shaadi.com, who is a big cricket and in particular Indian cricket fan, made a funny tweet on KL Rahul. Using his sense of humor, Mittal reckoned KL Rahul should make a comeback.
“What a thrashing … A numerologist suggested adding 2 letters to his name and bringing him back to KheL ! Whatsay?,” Anupam Milttal tweeted. His tweet has gone viral among fans.
Nonetheless, it is unlikely that India will drop Shubman Gill after just one Test match – he was India’s second highest scorer in the first innings and seemed in good touch and confidence.
This victory not only meant Australia kept the series alive, but also that they sealed their place in the WTC final, and India are left in a position where they have to win the 4th Test, in Ahmedabad, to reach the WTC final, or else Sri Lanka, who are yet to face New Zealand for 2 Tests, will have a window of opportunity to enter the WTC final.
