Jofra Archer has arrived in India and is now training with the Mumbai Indians for the upcoming IPL 2023 season. The Mumbai franchise paid Rs 8 crore in the IPL 2022 mega-auction for the right-arm pacer. In Indian Premier League 2023, he will make his first appearance for MI.

MI Speedster has arrived in India for the upcoming 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL). Jofra’s long history of injuries cast serious doubt on his ability to participate in the T20 league. He returned to competitive cricket in the South African Twenty20 tournament and then played in an international match against South Africa.
The right-arm pacer is back in top form and will do his thing for the Rohit Sharma-led white-ball squad. The five-time IPL winners posted a photo of Jofra wearing a MI t-shirt to Twitter.

At the IPL 2022 mega-auction, MI shelled out an enormous Rs 8 crore to acquire Jofra. The team was aware that the pacer wouldn’t be playing in IPL 15 and made preparations accordingly. MI kept bidding on him with an eye towards the future and eventually won the bidding war.

Jofra will make his MLB debut for the Mariners, but he and Jasprit Bumrah won’t be able to combine for the ideal new ball duo. The Indian pacer had back surgery recently, so he won’t be playing in IPL 2023. MI will also be without Jhye Richardson in addition to Bumrah. There are no new players on the roster yet.

MI is counting on MI Speedster to be their go-to bowler for the majority of their matches in the upcoming IPL 2023 season. Without Bumrah, MI’s pace attack is vulnerable, and the franchise may struggle.
On April 2, Mumbai Indians will play the first game of Indian Premier League 2023 on the road against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). On April 8, they’ll host the season opener against Chennai Super Kings at home.
