India’s veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan produced a scintillating performance however he missed the well-deserved century by just one run during Match 14 of the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Though, Punjab Kings had a shaky start as they lost wickets at regular intervals, but Dhawan impressed one and all with his calm and composed innings that anchored the innings.
Shikhar Dhawan Played A Captain’s Knock
PBKS captain Shikhar played like a lone wolf while wickets continued to tumble on the other end. He finished his stellar knock on 99 off 66 deliveries, which was laced with 12 fours and five sixes. Riding on the stellar knock of Dhawan, Punjab Kings posted a score of 143/9 in their allotted 20 overs, setting a target of 144 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad to chase down.

In the process, Dhawan achieved a massive feat as he created history. He became the second batter ever in history to bat with all his other teammates during a single IPL inning. The only other batter to achieve this milestone was Parthiv Patel for Chennai Super Kings back in 2019.
