IPL 2023: Rinku Singh shattered a number of records as he pulled off a miraculous win in a match against defending champions Gujarat Titans on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. Thanks to his powerful batting in the final over of the match, KKR was able to chase down 205 runs.
Rinku Singh Did The Unthinkable in IPL 2023
When Rinku came on strike, KKR needed 28 runs off 5 balls to win, which looked impossible. He had already smashed a four and a six to end the penultimate over of the innings and then he did the unthinkable in the last over of the game.
Rinku produced one of the most incredible finishes in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history as he smashed five sixes in as many balls when 28 runs were needed for the Men in Purple to win against the Gujarat Titans.
This was also KKR’s second win of the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League, while Gujarat suffered its first defeat of the season.
The runs clattered by Rinku broke a big record of the 20th over in the IPL of two all-time greats – MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma. 30 runs by Rinku Singh are now the most runs scored by a batsman in the last over of a successful run-chase in the IPL history.

Meanwhile, with his sensational knock, Rinku has added several records to his name. He has now helped Kolkata Knight Riders to break the record of scoring the most runs in the final over of a match during a successful run chase in IPL. The previous record was held by now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant who had scored 23 runs against Punjab Kings in 2016.
