Ajinkya Rahane Shared How Conversations With Rahul Dravid Helped Him Overcome The World Cup Snub

Ajinkya Rahane, team India’s Test vice-captain was left disappointed with the  ICC World Cup 201 snub this year.  Ajinkya Rahane was expected to be in the playing squad with Team India’s management struggling to fix the No. 4 slot but he was snubbed.

Well, the All India National Selection Committee, which is headed by MSK Prasad ignored Ajinkya Rahane during the World Cup selection despite struggling with the number 4 position. Well, the management also ignored him when they had to pick two replacements in place of Shikhar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar. That snub left him in a state of shock.

In a recent interview with a leading media, he revealed how conversations with ‘the wall’, i.e, Rahul Dravid helped him overcome his disappointment and come out of that phrase. Talking about the same, in an interview, Ajinkya Rahane said:

“At times, we get too caught up in our pursuit of success and then we suddenly realise that we are required to just stop, sit back and introspect. I did exactly that when I wasn’t selected for the 2019 World Cup,”

He added:

“Conversations with Rahul bhai also helped me get those answers that I should keep my batting really simple. Take one game at a time. Be in a positive mindset,”

Furthermore, Ajinkya Rahane said that he is currently in a very good space. He said:

“I am in a very good space right now, and it started from the West Indies series. I was in England, playing county cricket where I learnt a lot not only as a cricketer but also as a human being,”
