Former West Indies cricket star Chris Gayle recently praised Yashasvi Jaiswal for his outstanding performance against England. “It’s like the guy (Yashasvi Jaiswal) has been playing for 20 years, unbelievable. I just hope he can keep it up. He reminds me a lot of Shivnarine Chanderpaul, a more attacking version of him. A lot will be expected of him as he goes on but they should just let him continue to flow. He’s an attacking player, you see that in his T20 cricket as well…That’s in his nature as well and they shouldn’t try to curb him or try to change him,”

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been outstanding in Test cricket, scoring 861 runs in seven matches with an average of 71.75. He needs 139 more runs to reach 1000 runs. To surpass Sunil Gavaskar’s record of 774 runs in a Test series, he needs 230 more runs, which he could achieve with four innings left in the series.
