England Make Two Changes Playing XI For Fourth IND vs ENG Test In Ranchi

The changes in the lineup are in line with England’s strategy to rotate their fast bowlers and adapt to different playing conditions. Shoaib Bashir, who debuted in Visakhapatnam, replaces Rehan Ahmed. The leg-spinner performed decently in the previous match. Tom Hartley retains his place, with Joe Root expected to contribute with his spin bowling as well.
Rehan has been struggling with his bowling, and Wood has only taken four wickets in two matches, with a mediocre strike rate of 94.25. Their poor performances likely led to them being dropped from the English team for the Ranchi Test.
Meanwhile, Bashir, who was dropped after a forgettable debut in Visakhapatnam, returns to the playing XI as a replacement for Rehan Ahmed. Furthermore, Robinson has won the management’s trust, owing to his ability to consistently bowl in the channel.
Despite being off-color with the bat, Jonny Bairstow retains his place and would be keen to regain his mojo in the Ranchi Test.
The focus will be on Ben Stokes and whether he returns to bowling duties for the rest of the series in India. Stokes hinted at a possible comeback, mentioning his practice sessions during the warm-ups between Tests.
