During the Captains Day event, the ICC is going to organize a formal briefing session for the captains. Following the event of Captains Day, the World Cup 2023 Opening Ceremony will take place in the evening.

The members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), members of the executive board of the global cricket governing body, and representatives of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will also be present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, ahead of the inauguration ceremony, six out of the ten competing teams are slated to engage in warm-up matches. Among these matchups, India will take on the Netherlands, Australia will lock horns with Pakistan, and Sri Lanka will lock horns against Afghanistan.
