The sea of blues at the Narendra Modi stadium and the billion eyeballs around the country were left stunned as the Australia captain Pat Cummins and his Australian teammates roared after the skipper had bowled Virat Kohli in the final.
On a tough pitch, Virat Kohli had looked close to flawless in his 54-run knock in 62 balls, but on the 63rd ball that he faced, the right-hander tried to tap a back-of-length ball from Pat Cummins to third man for another regulation single. However, Kohli didn’t open the face of his bat enough and the ball bounced on the pitch and hit the top of the stumps, dislodging the bail.
Virat Kohli remained stood in his crease for 10 second looking around to accept the fact that he’s been finally dismissed by the relentless Pat Cummins, and that he will have to talk the walk back to the dressing room with the team still needing his services in the middle.

Rohit Sharma gave India a cracking start with his 47 off 31 balls. But Rohit and Shreyas Iyer got out in quick succession. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli then slowly rebuilt India’s innings with their partnership of 67 (109) before Kohli got out.
Earlier, Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl. Rohit announced that India will be playing the same XI that has played in the last 6 matches.
