Funniest Memes After RCB Loses 4th Consecutive Match In WPL 2023

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Women’s WPL 2023 campaign gets to another low as the Smriti Mandhana-led team lost their fourth consecutive match and are the only side in the tournament to have not opened their account on the points table.

On Friday, at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, RCB were given another shellacking, this time by the UP Warriorz, who registered a comprehensive 10-wicket victory, chasing down the very-under-par target of 139 runs in 13 overs. With this win, not only UPW reached 4 points and take the 3rd spot in the points table, but they have also made a significant boost to their NRR by winning with 7 overs to spare.

RCB sit at the bottom with 0 points in 4 matches

It seems RCB will have to win all their remaining 4 matches to stand a chance to finish in the top 3.

Smriti Mandhana won another toss and elected to bat first. Her own struggles with the bat continued and this time she couldn’t even get a start, dismissed for only 4 runs. However, the back-to-form Sophie Devine and the already in-form Ellyse Perry counter-attacked brilliantly with a flurry of boundaries, and made a sizzling partnership of 44 (31).

At 73/1, it felt RCB will finally get to 200. However, after that began the dramatic collapse. And while Perry continued to play her shots and score runs, she also continued to lose partners at the other end regularly.

RCB collapsed from 73/1 to 138 all-out. Perry scored 52 off 39 balls. Sophie Ecclestone picked up 4 wickets and Deepti Sharma picked up 3 wickets.

RCB were never going to be in the chase at all: this target was really low for this venue, and their bowling – which didn’t have Megan Schutt today – looked all the more weaker.

UP Warriorz captain and opener Alyssa Healy made a mockery of this target as she hammered 96* runs off 47 balls, blasting 18 fours and one six in her Player of the Match award-winning innings. Left-hander Devika Vaidya was promoted to open today and she did well, remaining unbeaten on 36 off 31 balls, while playing the anchor role and giving Healy the strike regularly.

Fans as usual got on the meme-train and trolled RCB mercilessly.
