From on-the-field battles to online battles, Gautam Gambhir can’t catch a break. After his row with Virat Kohli at the end of the IPL 2023 match between RCB and LSG, in Lucknow, Gambhir shot back at renowned news anchor Rajat Sharma who had made some scathing remarks about the former India batsman.
India TV anchor and one of the most highly followed and respected journalists in the country, Rajat Sharma had said that Gambhir is jealous of the success and fame of Virat Kohli, adding that he was being salty and ill-mannered in his heated altercation with the RCB star. Rajat Sharma reckoned Gambhir’s actions were against the spirit of cricket and sportsmanship.

Gautam Gambhir hits back at Rajat Sharma with a strong tweet:
To these statements from Rajat Sharma, Gautam Gambhir tweeted recalling Rajat Sharma’s short stint as the president of Delhi & Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) in 2018/19 and his resignation citing his inability to continue amidst “various pulls and pressures” within the DDCA.
The LSG mentor called Rajat Sharma a “Bhagoda” and that the news anchor is only peddling his agenda against Gambhir.
Gautam Gambhir tweeted: “Man who ran away from Delhi Cricket citing “pressure” seems over eager to sell paid PR as concern for cricket! यही कलयुग़ है जहां ‘भगोड़े’ अपनी ‘अदालत’ चलाते हैं।”

If you can give it, you got to take it: Virat Kohli to Gautam Gambhir
Kohli was at his highest energetic levels in the dressing room after the win. Addressing indirectly this issue of Gambhir shushing to RCB crowd in Bangalore and his replying back with a similar gesture in Lucknow, Kohli said. “That’s a sweet win boys. A sweet win. If you can give it, you got to take it. Otherwise don’t give it.”
Speaking about the match that RCB won by 18 runs while defending a low ttoal, Kohli added, “It was a really important win for us. The fact that we got more support from the home crowd is an unbelievable feeling. It tells you all about how much we are liked as a team and how people come out and back us. It’s a very sweet win. Feels very good for many reasons but most importantly for the kind of character we showed defending that total [126]. I think everyone had the belief that we could do it and we were on the winning side which is great.”
