India’s young all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been named the captain of India A side for the warm up match against Australia. While announcing the squad for the one-off Test series against Bangladesh, the selectors also named the 15-man squad for the practice match against Australia.
Pandya, who is now an important member of India’s limited-overs cricket squad, has also been included in the squad for the series against Bangladesh. The selectors have picked a very young squad and not many can argue with it.
By naming Pandya as the captain of India A team, the selectors have sent out a signal that they are confident about Pandya and willing to invest on him in the long run. Hardik has emerged as a good new ball bowler for India and this has bimproved the balance of the tea, as they can now play an extra batsman or spinner according to the need of the situation.
