ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Yuvraj Singh Missed India’s Practice Session

ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Team India, led by Virat Kohli, took part in their first practice session in England ahead of their first game of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 against arch-rivals Pakistan. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted pictures of Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and others from the practice session on their social media accounts.

Team India practiced at Lord’s cricket ground and it was an extended practice session where almost every batsman in the squad practices in the nets. However, India’s swashbuckling all-rounder Yuvraj Singh did not participate in the session.

It is being reported that Yuvraj Singh didn’t participate because of illness. . According to a report on the Mumbai Mirror, Yuvraj is expected to recover in a day’s time. But as of now, it is unclear whether he will be part of the Indian squad that will take on New Zealand on Sunday.

Yuvraj Singh is in very good form and he is one of the most important members of the squad. Yuvraj has a lot of experience of playing in England and also in big tournaments like ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Indian captain Virat Kohli described Yuvraj as one of the most important elements in India’s middle order, in a press conference before leaving for England.

Our take: Yuvraj Singh will recover from his illness in a day’s time and be a part of India’s playing XI for the first warm-up game against New Zealand. As per our information, he is suffering from fever and will be back in action in a day’s time.
