The second T20I of the ongoing 3-match series between India and South Africa, turned out to be a very disappointing affair as a section of crowd starting throwing bottles in the ground after a poor batting display by the Indian cricket team. Hundreds of water bottles were thrown in the ground, just a few meters away from South Africa’s dug-out. To avoid any physical injury or violence on the field, the match-referee Chris Broad decided to stop the game for almost half an hour.
This incident was condemned and criticised by the majority of fans, former and current cricketers and the media. This is how the cricketing world reacted to the incident of bottle-throwing during the second India-South Africa T20 in Cuttack:
