India vs West Indies 2016: Murali Vijay ruled out of 2nd Test

Murali Vijay, India’s first-choice opener in Test cricket, on Friday, was ruled out for the second of the four-match Test series against West Indies, to be played at Sabina Park, Kingston in Jamaica on Saturday, due to a thumb injury. Vijay, who failed to convert his start in the first start, suffered the injury during a practice session in Anitgua, and would thus not take part in the second Test, and would instead most likely be replaced by fellow opener KL Rahul.

Murali Vijay is one of the best batsmen in India’s Test team and he has been in very good form in past 12 months or so. Vijay is traditional in his ways as far as batting is concerned. He takes his time to build an innings and waits only for bad balls for his scoring options.
