IPL 2022: 10 Hilarious Memes From ‘CSK vs PBKS’ Match

Jatin KhandelwalBy Jatin Khandelwal25/04/2022Updated:08/02/2023No Comments3 Mins Read

CSK vs PBKS: At the half-game mark, Chennai Super Kings skipper Ravindra Jadeja felt his bowlers had given “away 10-15 runs extra at the end” to the likes of Shikhar Dhawan and Liam Livingstone as Punjab Kings put up 187 on the board, on a used surface on which batting was going to get tougher as the game progresses. Bravo and Pretorius did concede 35 runs in the last couple of overs.

Jadeja was spot on in his assessment as CSK lost the game by 11 runs. However, the CSK skipper himself would regret not being able to score runs quicker than he did: Jadeja was 14 off 14 when going into the last over with 27 improbable run required to win even though MS Dhoni, the greatest white-ball finisher was at the crease; Jadeja did slog a six towards the end but by then the game had been virtually pocketed by Punjab.

PBKS skipper Mayank Agarwal didn’t mind batting first after losing the toss as, he pointed out, the pitch was a used one from Sunday’s Mumbai-Lucknow match and will get more challenging to bat on in the second innings.

It did – but for everyone else but Ambati Rayudu, who despite carrying an injury he sustained while fielding, hammered 78 runs off 39 balls. However, no other batsman in the top six batted over a strike rate of 135 before MS Dhoni gave PBKS a scare launching Rishi Dhawan to six on the first ball of the last over. However, Dhawan responded back with a dot ball yorker and then dismissed Dhoni, caught in the deep before closing things out safely.

Earlier, Punjab rode on Shikhar Dhawan’s 88 off 59 balls, supported by Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s 42 off 32 and a late cameo of 19 from 7 balls by Livingstone to put up an above-par total on a two-paced deck.

This 11-run loss will hurt more as CSK dropped two catches – both of Rajapaksa – and also let off some runs with misfield. Their playoff chances now have taken a massive hit, with just 4 points in 8 matches. Punjab, after losing their last couple of games, will feel better with 8 points in 8 matches.

Twitter erupted with hilarious memes and trolls as CSK suffered their sixth defeat of the season.

Here are some of the best memes and Twitter reactions for the CSK-PBKS game:
