Australia vs. India in the 2023 IPL ODI: After the injury to Jasprit Bumrah, fans of the Mumbai Indians are finding it difficult to rest comfortable these days. The Rohit Sharma-led team’s latest addition to the injured list is Jhye Richardson. Jhye will not travel with Australia for the ODI series against India because his hamstring ailment, which first occurred during the BBL, flared up again during his first-grade game. It is now unlikely that he will participate in Indian Premier League 2023 for the five-time champion Mumbai Indians.
Richardson had not played in any cricket matches since tearing his hamstring on January 4. Thought to be a minor injury at first, it took him two solid months to start playing again. He was anticipated to return in time for the BBL championship game.

He missed the Perth Scorchers‘ run to the BBL championship and hasn’t played since in the Marsh Cup or Sheffield Shield. The three-match series against India will begin on March 17 in Mumbai, and he was selected to play for Australia in the 16-man ODI team.

Nathan Ellis, who has played in three ODIs, has taken Richardson’s place. Richardson returned to competitive cricket on Saturday in Perth during a 50-over game for his club Fremantle against Wanneroo. It was believed that he would make his home comeback in the Marsh Cup final before departing for India.
But he was only able to bowl for Fremantle for four overs, recording three strikes against five, before leaving the field and seeking medical attention. He later went to the WACA field to talk to the WA medical staff.
Richardson has experienced a bad run of soft-tissue issues over the previous two seasons in addition to the significant shoulder injury he sustained in 2019.

After being passed over for the Border Gavaskar Trophy, the 28-year-old is now slated to miss not just the IPL 2023 but also the WTC Final in June. Bumrah’s preferred return date is the World Cup in 2023, which is still 7 months away.
The reason given is that it’s believed Bumrah’s injury is serious and would take months to heal.
