IPL 2024: Rishabh Pant Is Back; DC Captain Gets Green Signal From Medical Team

After the rumors and reports had been building up in the past few weeks, it’s finally learned that Rishabh Pant has been given the fitness clearance by the BCCI’s medical team at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bengaluru, to feature in the IPL 2024.

This is a piece of huge news for everyone – Rishabh Pant, the cricket fans, Delhi Capitals franchise, the IPL, and the Indian cricket team. Should Pant attain form and prove fitness in the IPL, he could be drafted straight into the T20 World Cup 2024 squad; the T20 World Cup in June will immediately follow the IPL which will conclude by May 26.

Sports Tak confirmed on Sunday that the 26-year-old Delhi Capitals captain has been declared fit by the NCA, and he will soon join the Delhi Capitals pre-tournament camp in Vizag, where DC will play their first two matches of this season. Because of the WPL 2024 second half being played in Delhi, with the pitches and ground needing time for preparation for the IPL 2024, Delhi’s first two home matches will be played in Vizag.

While Rishabh Pant has received clearance to play in the IPL, it’s still not clear whether he will take the workload of wicket-keeping duties. Because of the injuries on his knee, it is felt that the Capitals will slowly ease him into his previous roles.

Pant is unlikely to take the gloves at least for the first half of the season. He will, though, lead Delhi Capitals, taking back the captaincy duties from David Warner, who led them in Pant’s absence last season, but DC couldn’t reach the playoffs.

Fans erupted in joy and celebration upon learning that Rishabh Pant has been given fitness clearance:
