‘IPL Mein To Nahi Dalta’: Rohit Sharma Took A Funny Dig At Ravindra Jadeja For No Balls In Rajkot Test

Even though India were struggling a bit in the field during England’s first innings in Rajkot, India captain Rohit Sharma found a moment of fun after Ravindra Jadeja bowled two no-balls in an over to Joe Root.

Amid the fading light of the day, with England on top, Ravindra Jadeja overstepped twice in a single over. Standing near the stumps, Rohit Sharma hurled a cheeky dig at the all-rounder, mentioning that he doesn’t bowl these many no-balls in the IPL as he has bowled today in a single over.

Rohit Sharma quipped at Jadeja, “Yaar, ye Jadeja IPL mein to itne No Balls nahi dalta. T20 samajh ke bowling kar, Jaddu. (Man, Jadeja doesn’t bowl this many No Balls in IPL. Think it’s a T20 game and bowl).” Sharma smiled after saying this.

One of the forgettable days for Ravindra Jadeja in home Tests

Ravindra Jadeja had a torrid time with the ball today. He was introduced a lot later in the innings than usual because left-hander Ben Duckett was smoking the Indian bowlers. And Jadeja didn’t escape from that either. Duckett and Pope clobbered the left-arm spinner and Jadeja leaked 33 runs in only 4 overs today.

Duckett, who notched up a scintillating 88-ball century, reverse-swept Ravindra Jadeja for a stunning six and hit him out of the attack.

Earlier in the day, Jadeja had failed to convert his century into a bigger score and was dismissed by Joe Root for 112. India were bowled out for 445 after some crucial runs from Ashwin and Jurel.

However, England wiped 207 off those in only 35 overs, motoring along at a run rate of 5.91 as Duckett stroked a terrific century. He ended the day at 133* in 118 balls.

R Ashwin took his 500th wicket in the form of Zak Crawley. He and Ravindra Jadeja have been two of the biggest contributors to India’s home wins over the past 11 years.
