Jay Shah Reveals The Comeback Series Of Mohammed Shami – Mohammed Shami, India’s premier fast bowler, has been a standout performer for India in the last ten years. Shami has been leading the Indian pace attack and delivering at crucial moments for India in all these years. The excellent quality of Shami is to bowl with the seam straight, which very few bowlers can pull off. Hence, he has the ability to seam the ball in both directions at excellent pace. He has been sensational for India in the ODI World Cups. He also ended up as the leading wicket-taker in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Mohammed Shami finished the 2023 World Cup as the leading wicket-taker with 24, one more than Australia’s Adam Zampa.
However, since then, Shami has been sidelined due to injury. He missed the two-match away test series against South Africa and also missed the five-match home test series against England. Shami has also been ruled out of the IPL 2024 for the Gujarat Titans. He recently went to the United Kingdom and had surgery. He continues to recover from his Achilles tendon injury.
Jay Shah Reveals The Comeback Series Of Mohammed Shami
Now, the Secretary of BCCI, Jay Shah, has revealed that Mohammed Shami will make his comeback in the home test series against Bangladesh. “Shami surgery is done, he is back in India. Shami’s return is likely for the home series against Bangladesh. KL Rahul needed an injection; he has started rehab and is at the NCA,” Jay Shah told PTI.
India will face Bangladesh in a series consisting of two test matches and 3 T20 matches in September. The BCCI had already made it clear that Shami would get ample time to make his recovery from injury. He will also not be in contention for the T20 World Cup 2024, which will happen in June. All the Indian cricket fans are waiting patiently for their World Cup star to return back. India will be hoping that Shami is fit and raring to go in the 4-match Border-Gavaskar series in Australia at the end of the year.
