Jofra Archer Will “Not Play Back To Back” Matches For Mumbai Indians In IPL 2023: The Mumbai Indians pace attack continues to get depleted with every passing news. After losing Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson to injuries, the MI management has been hinted that Jofra Archer will “not play back to back” matches in the IPL 2023 as part of his workload management.
Jofra Archer is yet “not fully firing on all cylinders”

Only in January, the England fast bowler returned to high-level action after a series of finger, elbow, and back injuries which rendered him unable to play from April 2021 to December 2022.
Jofra Archer made his comeback in the SA20 tournament for MI Cape Town where he was rested after playing every 1 or 2 matches and rarely played 2 matches on a trot. He played 6 matches out of the 10 that MI Cape Town played.
The 27-year-old then made his return to the England ODI side against South Africa and Bangladesh – in 6 ODIs against these two teams, Archer played in 4 matches.

England’s limited-overs head coach Matthew Mott has now said that the doctors have told to not play Archer in consecutive matches and give him regular breaks between games.
This is something that will be a massive problem for Mumbai Indians, who bought Archer for INR 8 crore in IPL 2022 mega-auction and are expecting him to lead their pace attack in the absence of both Bumrah and Jhye Richardson.
”Not really, no. The medical advice was definitely not back-to-back games. He (Archer) would admit that he’s not fully firing on all cylinders. You can just see he’s ticking all the boxes to get back to his best,” Mott was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
Jofra Archer was impressive in the SA20 for MI Cape Town, picking up 10 wickets in 6 matches and maintaining his economy of less than 8.
In the 4 ODIs combined against South Africa and Bangladesh, Jofra Archer seemed to be getting back to his best – snapping up 12 wickets at an average of only 16.
Mumbai Indians will start their IPL 2023 campaign against RCB on April 2 in Bangalore.
MI will have to look for an Indian pacer and an overseas pacer who had gone unsold in the IPL 2023 auction to replace Bumrah and Richardson.
